Increasing Website Visits and Exposure for Book Release

Background

Lincee Tang is a young, creative author who has made her mark on the cruise industry through the release of her new book, The Untold Tales of a Sailor at Sea. Having worked in the cruise industry for a good part of her life, Lincee wanted to share her eye-opening perspective through her exciting novel. Her hope was to enhance the cruise experience for all passengers and workers.

To promote her book, Lincee published international press releases, ran Facebook ads, and participated in radio interviews. All of these efforts were effective, but were not resulting in the amount of exposure the author desired nor did they adequately reach her target audience. Lincee needed to get in front of a larger number of consumers in the cruise industry, so she turned to Blip Billboards in order to do so. With Blip, the author could reach and target a substantial number of people based on precise geographical location.

Lincee used Blip Billboards to advertise her book to generate awareness, drive online traffic, and increase sales.


Solution

Lincee decided to launch 17 campaigns, each in a distinct location with a specific message and objective. Even with a large amount of campaigns to track, the author found Blip’s platform to be extremely easy to use. She especially appreciated the ability to advertise in select locations allowing her to connect with specific potential customers. In her most prominent campaign, focused in Texas and Florida, she picked billboards between the airports, hotels, and cruise terminals to target cruise passengers. Lincee also advertised in southern Alabama to reach cruise medical teams on their regularly traveled commuter routes.


Results

After several months of off and on advertising, Lincee saw a great increase in awareness and a significant increase in website traffic. Although her goal was to increase book sales, many book vendors saw her billboards and decided to pick up her book and offer it in their retail stores and websites. Moving forward, this would provide additional book exposure and further business opportunities.
